    Camping with teenagers…

    Who knew we needed more chill time The kids said yesterday they needed more chill time. More of doing nothing. Let me break down our day for you. We went on a jaunt on our boat, sitting. We took a stroll along the beach, hunting for beach glass and cool stones, strolling pace. We had dinner with friends at a park, sitting. Other than some drive time and two trips to Timmies for them, I felt the day was pretty chill. My chill and their chill clearly do not have the same meaning.     Our Maiden Voyage

    This story ends with my Birkenstocks covered in black tank water.  The lesson learned at that moment will never be forgotten!  Always close the valve before removing the hose! Our maiden voyage with our new to us rpod went pretty well otherwise!  We have a seasonal site, which is not what we bought our lite weight camper for, but in the current state of COVID 19, we felt that was the best decision for us this year.  We are about two and a half hours from home, so we feel that we are “going away” when we head up there.  The jeep pulled it perfectly, which is good because we…

    Tenters no more!

    I love camping.  We are planning our trips this summer.  In fact, we have purchased a small travel trailer. It’s pretty exciting for us.  I have begun thinking about decorating the inside to our taste!  We have plans to camp near Gravenhurst in Ontario for the long weekend in May.  We went to this location last summer, with the kayaks and our provincial park day pass.  This spring we will have the canoe and plan to purchase a park pass again before we head north. In previous years Sam and I have camped in our tent, on a non-serviced site.  We use our camp stove and “rough it”.  Now that…
