Lake Huron – Love this lake

Lake Huron is my favourite great lake.  It is deep, clean and many times glows that Caribbean blue colour that makes everyone happy!

I can’t really say I have a favourite beach, Ipperwash, Pinery and Grand Bend are the ones I visit the most, but Sauble is an amazing beach as well!  I think I love them all so much because the sand is light in colour, soft and the communities do a great job in keeping the beach clean.  Grand Bend and Sauble have a great strip of shops and restaurants.  We pack a picnic when we head to Ipperwash and the Pinery as there are limited options for food!

Point Farms Provincial Park

Grand Bend is a fun place for the whole family.  The strip offers lots of shopping, restaurants, mini golf, beaver tails and so much more!  There are companies that will take you parasailing or out to their water trampoline!  The boardwalk in Grand Bend is fantastic and has a snack bar and change rooms down at the beach.  You do need to pay for parking so be sure to pay the meter! During the summer there are many bands performing in the new Rotary Community Stage and I have seen many beach volleyball tournaments happening as well.

The Pinery Provincial Park http://pinerypark.on.ca/ has several beaches, including a dog beach!  You can pack your lunch and BBQ near / on the beach!  We have also enjoyed the beach at Point Farms Provincial Parkhttps://www.ontarioparks.com/park/pointfarms!  You can easily make it a weekend at these beaches!

Please check https://www.lambtonshores.ca/en/explore-and-play/beaches.aspx for the beach community calendar of events and for water quality. This year the water levels are high, and some beach access is limited in areas.

You can’t beat a sunset on Lake Huron.
